Play Button Dupe Fixed (Oct 4)

One day after UPDATE 9 introduced Play Buttons, developer Cakestax posted a fix in the official Discord on October 4, 2026: “FIXED PLAY BUTTON TRADING AND DUPING.”

What was fixed

  • Play Button trading and the Play Button dupe are both patched. The announcement does not detail how the exploit worked — only that it is fixed.

The penalty for abusers

The announcement is explicit about a rollback:

If you notice a slight decrease in subscribers -> This is because you abused the play button dupe, and we’ve reduced your subs down a little as a small penalty!

  • Players who abused the dupe had their subscriber count reduced a little as a “small penalty”.
  • The developer closed with “Thanks to all who reported.”

The developer is still working on Cheese Pull

Side note from the same announcement window: on September 30, 2026, Cakestax posted an “IN NEED OF TESTERS” call for a new title — the official Discord’s new testing channels name it Just Keep Mining — and reassured players in the same post: “I am STILL working on stream a cheese pull! Don’t worry!” So the new game does not mean updates here stop. Tester recruitment closed the same day with “We have plenty of testers now”.
