Backrooms Update (Sep 2026)
The official Discord announced the Backrooms update as live on September 1, 2026. This page collects everything confirmed in the announcement, plus the rebirth change that shipped a day earlier.
What’s in the Backrooms update
Per the official announcement (September 1, 2026):
- Backrooms themed items — a new wave of yellow-maze-flavoured decor for your studio.
- New decor pieces: glass panes, ladders, a chair and more furniture items for building out your set.
- Index desks — the index now has desks, tying the collection screen into your studio layout.
The announcement came with screenshots showing the new items in studio setups.
Rebirth no longer locks your setup
One day before the update, the official account confirmed a fix players had been asking for: your setup no longer gets locked after rebirthing. Before this change, going through a rebirth would lock your arranged studio; now your layout survives the reset, which makes rebirthing much less disruptive to your streaming business.
What’s next
The developer’s devlog (September 1, 2026) teased a preview of several incoming setups for the Saturday update — expect another content drop at the weekend.
